Cornerhouse’s flagship independent film theatre plays a major role in the cultural life of the region and beyond, by providing a large and varied film programme, most of which would not otherwise be seen. Every month around 25 different titles are screened in our three cinemas covering a very wide range of work, including brand new films and others that have been re-released; screenings of overlooked or underrated films; 'classic' films; documentaries; animation; archive material; short films and videos; avant-garde film, video and television and European or foreign language films. Our cinemas are open seven days a week, with daily evening performances, and matinee screenings each day except Monday, making a total of almost 3,500 screenings annually.
