Welcome to Projector – Cornerhouse’s programme for schools and colleges. Events are aimed at the 14 - 19 group studying GCSE, AS, A2, BTEC and equivalent. There are five strands: Modern Foreign Languages, Film & Media, Arts & Design, ESOL and our new Digital strand. Projector also includes INSET days for teachers.

Selected Projector events are also taking place at other venues in the North West, The Dukes in Lancaster and FACT in Liverpool.

What Is Projector?

ESOL
Using film to analyse colloquial spoken English and study Anglophone culture.
Modern Foreign Languages
Through films, students experience first hand the vocabulary, accents and colloquialisms of native speakers. Currently covers German, Italian, Spanish French and Urdu.
Film & Media
Keeping syllabus specifications in mind, these sessions concentrate on key concepts whilst providing students with a broad range of films to encourage personal study.
Art & Design
Using Cornerhouse exhibitions as well as stand alone syllabus topic areas to stimulate students' understanding and appreciation.
Digital
Programme of events that trains teachers of all disciplines to use digital technologies within secondary and further education.

AS Study Session: AU REVOIR LES ENFANTS

In an extended introduction, Isabelle Vanderschelden will discuss the themes and historical background to Louis Malle’s AU REVOIR LES ENFANTS. Following the screening students will be given the chance to explore and discuss the themes of the film.
Institution And Audience

Designed for AS Film and Media students, but also suitable for A2, the event will use a full screening of UN SECRET to explore how distributors and exhibitors assess the appeal of a film and present it to audiences.
The BBFC Debate

This event is aimed at AS and A2 students studying censorship, regulation and shocking cinema. The session will begin by introducing the work of the BBFC and will discuss censorship and certification.
AS Study Session: DIE WELLE

An interactive study day during which students will complete AS level German language exercises. Discussion will focus on themes of education, young people’s rights and responsibilities and relationships, including a full screening of DIE WELLE.
ESOL Exhibition Tour: Interspecies

This gallery tour of Interspecies will provide an introduction to the artists and works on show with a discussion on the issues involved in the exhibition.
